This piece was a prototype for a color scheme used on a client's project. The full piece is 3" wide, with a 1" wide opening in the archway, and makes a great way to display a mini based on a standard 1" square base. (As you can see with Laurana, here. More pictures of her in the painted miniature gallery!)
This particular piece is based on sturdy foamcore. I don't base my pieces this way anymore, since cutting foamcore to fit pieces was always a pain for me. Since I still have a fair amount lying around, though, I'll sometimes use it for one-off pieces like this.
